We spent Columbus Day weekend at my parents' lake house to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving.
It was an excellent opportunity to wear out the dogs, especially Tucker.
Now, let's hold Tucker back a little.
So Sandy can get a head start.
But here comes Tucker...
It was a pretty day at the lake.
Troy loved it too.
Just like this past Labor Day weekend, driving the boat at my parents' lake house is a big deal.
But the best part is blowing the horn under the bridges.

Even though Labor Day has come and gone, summer continues for a few more weeks. We made what may be our last trip to Bumpass for the summer.
Honking going under the bridge was a definite highlight. 
At one point we saw three doe running through a field, a fish jumping and a bald eagle flying. This was the first time I had seen an eagle in the wild.
It was another good day on Lake Anna especially since Tim didn't try to kill me like he attempted to on Memorial Day weekend.
Rounding up our last two weeks of 2010, we stopped at my parents' lake house.
Nana enjoyed the pitching machine she bought Troy just as much as he did.
At least she put her beer down first.
It was a gorgeous winter sunset on the lake.

Over the Fourth of July holiday weekend at my parents' lake house in Bumpass the boys were focused on catching some fish "for dinner" off the dock.
On the first night there, my nephew Dylan and stepson Cary used the old faithful of bait, worms hot dogs.

On the second night, before the fireworks over the lake, Justin and Dylan erupted with screams from the dock while everyone else was up on the deck drinking relaxing before dinner.
They caught a catfish for dinner.
After telling them what they would have to do to prepare the fish for dinner, it was quickly released back into the water. 
We were left to eat the all-American meal on the Fourth of July, hamburgers and hot dogs plus some weird looking tomatoes from my Mom's garden.
The next door neighbors at the lake held their annual party this past weekend in Bumpass. This year's theme was Woodstock.
We helped them tie-dye a few hundred shirts over Memorial Day weekend for all the guests who came to party. My brother Mike, Buck and Tim modeled them before getting a taste of the 225 lb. pig that had been smoked all night.
At one point while enjoying the music, someone who authors this blog MAY have ended up on stage behind the microphone. To protect 
Jay and I took a picture of ourselves while we waited for Tim to come out of the house.
Then there's this lady wearing the "fern glasses" as she was told. I had a nice chuckle watching my Mom walk around in them.
It was a good party and I can't wait to hear what they do next year for the theme.
