Wordless Wednesday - My Mother-in-Law

December 2, 2009

Over Thanksgiving weekend, my mother-in-law visited us from Kentucky.

Our practice is to put houseguests to work so they don't stay too long. Unlike last time when we went to the beach.

She spent three days making us Roman shades for our bay window, new pillows and a table runner.

This was after making several pies for dinner too.

The pies were delicious and the curtains and pillows look wonderful.

Tim asked me why I didn't do "all that stuff "and I said, "I don't bake; I blog."

I'm definitely going to put my guests to work next time too. They always stay way too long!

I will from now on say that! "I don't ____, I blog!" Genius!

I keep a running list of chores for my parents to do when they come to town.

I love your mother-in-law, she sounds like my mother. She will knit a sweater, bake two pies and have dinner prepared plus three loads of laundry and the rest of us haven't showered yet.. amazing. Of course she isn't a blogger..

Sounds like you have a wonderful MIL, I'm so jealous! Mine just complains about how small our house is and that we don't live closer to her! Yeah, like that's in the plan anytime soon! :)

We need to trade MIL's so you can see how the other half lives.

Jessica December 2, 2009 at 9:28 PM

Amen to THAT.

I don't do dishes, either

Hmmm...my MIL just upped her stay by 6 days (for a grand total of 20!!). My SIL said we need to have her babysit all 6 grandchildren by herself. Maybe she won't book such a long visit next time!
