Flashback Friday - (part 30) - Move Over Mia Hamm

September 4, 2009

My step-daughter Carson loves to play soccer. It was fun to look back with her earlier this summer at pictures I took of one of her games in October 2001. She was six at the time.

Carson, age 6, soccer uniformIn case you haven't watched a bunch of first and second graders run around the soccer field, you need to know that it's very easy follow the ball because every little body on the field except for one or two girls runs after the ball. No one stays in position.Carson and her soccer team playingOne girl was running towards the ball even though by definition of her position, goalie, she should remain in the goal. Then I noticed two girls had separated from the pack, it appears that these girls stopped because they saw something of interest in the grass. To them, a dandelion was a flower to pick up despite the soccer game going on at the time. Life is full of simple pleasures when you're young.

Carson has continued to excel in sports but her passion still lays with soccer.

Fast forward to present day and she is now on her HIGH SCHOOL's junior varsity team. Where did the time go? She could be the next Mia Hamm before we know it.Carson's high school soccer game

Notice, there are no dandelions to serve as a distraction.Carson's high school soccer gamePictures stolen borrowed from someone's website. They weren't supposed to be stolen borrowed, but as the web-savy mom, I know how to get around these speed bumps.Carson's high school soccer game

Now it's your turn. Find an old picture and share a story about it or why you wanted to share it now. Flashback Friday has no real rules other than to have fun. Please share the link to your actual post and not main blog below for others to find you.

Makes me miss those crisp Saturday mornings...perfect soccer weather.

Great shots, by the way.
