Corn Hole Anyone?
September 23, 2009
On Saturday, Tim, Troy and I headed over to our friend Jay's for a bbq. But first I got a hair cut and had my hairdresser blow out my hair straight.
There was some serious corn hole competition going on.

The losers had to chug a beer or do a shot. Fish was happy to oblige and I think that was before he played.
As you can see, there was football on in the garage. Specifically, Virginia Tech playing the Nebraska cornhuskers. Troy was showing his team spirit in his new hokie outfit I bought him. His Virginia Tech jersey from last year was too small and also missing.
The kids had a good time running around Jay's backyard. Of course Troy had just seen his girlfriends the night before..jpg)
What is a hokie?.jpg)
It's not a chicken so much as a made up word that was coined by a student in 1896 and was later married to how Virginia Tech at the time was all-male and known as the gobblers. So was born the hokie bird. Here is the official explanation of what is a hokie.

When I was in Indiana they asked if I wanted to play cornhole. We didn't get around to it but glad they showed me what they meant as in the east that has a whole different meaning lol..they did play balls and ladders another game I had never heard of.
It's been ages since I wore my hair straight. My hair dresser always mentions it, but I never have time. Eh. At least yours looks good!
Go Hokies!
I had no idea the real meaning of a Hokie or what cornhole was. I may have to follow you so I can keep learning....lol
Deb -- Your hair looks great -- I love when hairdressers take all that time to blow it out!
Glad to know what a Hokie is! I always learn something new when I stop by your blog!
That's why I've given you a Lovely Blog Award, so stop by when you get a chance:
