Wordless Wednesday - Top of the Lighthouse
June 26, 2012
This year on our family vacation we took a break from the beach to climb to the top of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse in the Outer Banks.
The Currituck Beach Lighthouse was built in 1875 which I think is the same age as Ed, the curator.
It was a very windy day which explains why the Wright Brothers probably picked the location just south of us.
He didn't last long but was rewarded with ice cream when we got back down.
It was a beautiful day in the Outer Banks.

What a great place to visit! The staircase is amazing.
How fun!! I love these.
Oh, I do love lighthouses..and this one is on my list!
I want to go to the Outer Banks. looks lovely.
WOW< one of my favorite things is lighthouses, I would have a collection if I could. We visited them in California and South Carolina they have such a story to tell and the light keeper does have quit the job of keeping the light maintained. I do a lot of things I don't want to do for Sponge Bob ice cream.

What a lovely place to visit! Your pictures are great! And though those stairs don't sound fun to climb, I would totally do it for a Spongebob Ice Cream too ;)
Wow what a view! That's awesome that your son walked up all 215 steps!
Thanks for linking up for WW!
