Lost in Translation
March 29, 2012
Conversation with Troy while he's supposed to be brushing his teeth before school this morning.
Me: Troy, do you want to buy lunch today at school?
Troy: What are we having?
Me: Chicken nuggets
Troy: What else?
Me: I don't know but I know you like chicken nuggets.
Troy: Can you look on the iPad?
{{Curious now, I go and look at the full menu}}
Me: It's chicken nuggets, buttered noodles, steamed corn and applesauce.
Troy: What are "buddered beetles?"
{{Me laughing}}
Me: Buuuuuttered Noooo-dles
{{Troy grins realizing his mistake.}}
Troy: I don't want "Buddered Beetles."
What isn't lost in translation is Troy's blossoming soccer skills.
GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Then he's ready at kick-off again.
The life of a soccer Mom continues this weekend.

LOL...hes so damn cute...I LOVE that boy...
I love Troy's school. They serve what I eat. (not the nuggets but the rest) I once made dinner for a live-in boyfriend and pork roast, corn on the cob and buddered beetles and he looked at me and asked, "Where's the vegetable?" and I replied, "The corn!" and he said, "Uh, no, noodles and corn - 2 starches.
I swear I was shocked.
Buddered Beetles... now THAT'S hilarious. What a ham that boy of yours is.
That is FUNNY! My kids go to a private Catholic school... and EVERY DARN TIME they have chicken nuggets, it is with buttered noodles! Hysterical!
