And Then He Was Four
November 19, 2010
Last year for Flashback Friday, I chronicled the day I became a Mom. Yesterday was the fourth anniversary of that event so we celebrated Troy's birthday.
I didn't have the heart to tell him that he wasn't necessarily taller when he woke up on his birthday just because he was four.
He enjoyed opening his presents which included a training baseball bat, glove and new matchbox cars.

Troy also received The Elf on the Shelf which I understand is the best thing ever for parents during the month of December. The elf is named by your child and every night while they're sleeping goes to the North Pole to report on the child's behavior. When they wake up in the morning, he's in a different spot than the day before.

Surprisingly, his favorite gift were the Toy Story light up shoes. As Troy predicted, "these are going to make me run really, really fast."

When I tucked him into bed, he had the new shoes by his bedroom door instead of in his closet. Later, when I went to check in on him I didn't see the shoes. He had climbed down, grabbed the new shoes and put them in bed next to him along with Teddy and Curious George.
I hope he is always delighted with simple pleasures.
