Calling a Liar a Liar on Our Night Out
September 28, 2010
We live in a resort town which is why I never go down to the oceanfront during the summer. I can travel a few short miles and be on the Chesapeake Bay and hang out with the locals. On occasion, I have been a tourist in my own town when extended family members are in town but usually, I avoid it.
This past weekend was the Neptune Festival on the Boardwalk. There is a big sculpture on King Neptune who got into our picture here last year on Tim's birthday. Professionals create elaborate sand sculptures that are judged, there are artisans displaying their crafts, fireworks and lots of free live music. It attracts a lot of tourists.
On Saturday night, we went down to the oceanfront to meet my friend Kay the Redneck and her husband JC Redneck for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. Due to it's proximity to the boardwalk, I haven't been there in almost four years because of the tourists.
It took us 20 minutes to drive four blocks and because of a detour, it seemed even longer. Due to the festival, the parking attendant charged us $20 to park after he said there was no free parking for the restaurant across the street. He lied. As soon as we walked across the street and saw there was free parking, I immediately turned around and went back to the punk 20-something year old and demanded my $20 back and called him a liar. Then I pocketed my money and moved my car.
Then I got to enjoy fun conversation and many drinks with my friends.
Troy was happily occupied coloring with Connor and Ally at one end of the table.
I enjoyed my time with the "Redneck family." We hadn't seen them since they had traveled down just a month earlier to see Zac Brown Band in concert with us which was before we all went tubing on the James River.

I haven't been down there in so long and I miss it. I have a few friends in the area too. :)
It looks like you guys had an awesome time!
You go girl! Glad you got your 20 bucks back!
Yea, the summer is finally, officially, over and we can go back to the strip.
Looks like a good time despite the rough start.
I don't like being lied to either, but you always take a chance of being punched in the face when you call someone a liar.
