The little known other stage of grieving: Distraction
May 10, 2010
My mother-in-law visited this past weekend from Kentucky to help us celebrate our anniversary as well as mother's day. We didn't put her to work like last time. Her visit was probably perfected timed to distract us from losing our chocolate lab Sydney. We compensated with a lot alcohol distractions.
This included playing Wii.
She found her own "wii muscles."
Swimming in our ghetto pool.
Hanging out with friends like Nadya.
Playing in the neighborhood park on Mother's Day.
Our other lab Sandy is hanging in there too.

I am glad that you were able to be distracted if only for a bit. By the way I love the photos of your mother in-law :)
Wonderful happy photos...smiles are a nice distraction when you are sad. I know how hard it can be when you lose a beloved pet...I went through the same thing about 10 years ago.
Those Wii moves can be dangerous. The first day we had ours, I pulled a groin muscle bowling! Glad you had fun!!!
Sandy looks soooo sad. Pups have a way of giving us that real 'hang dog' look when they are sad, don't they?

Is it wrong that I consider Wii bowling a work-out? My arm gets so sore from it - I think it counts.
Is Sandy sad because he wasn't given a go on the Wii, or because he needed a wee?
