Goody Two Shoes

May 13, 2010

Deb wearing two different shoes to workSince I have commented a few times over Tim's love affair with his slippers and how he wore them while we bought a brand new car last year, I have to confess to the Oops moment I had earlier this week.

I came to work with two completely different shoes on.

In my defense, they are both black slingbacks. However, I never looked at them when I grabbed them out of the closet and tossed them by the door to put on as I was leaving.

I put on the open toed one and Troy was standing in the other one so I shooed him away, grabbed it, slipped it on and was out the door. Stopped at daycare, got back in the car, drove to work, walked down three flights of stairs in the garage to go back up two in my building. It wasn't til I was unlocking my office that I looked down and gasped.

Always sympathetic, my friend Kim upon seeing the picture, laughed so hard she had tears and then posted it on her facebook page for further ridicule. The comments were quite funny and a few people admitted to some fashion faux pas they've made.

This almost compares to the time Tim and I were called The Damn Kids in the Florida retirement community.

Have you ever left the house wearing something you shouldn't have and gotten caught?

They must be the exact same heel height for you not to notice! Completely hilarious!

I've gone to work with a sock stuck to the back of my shirt before. Then at another time I had a job that required me to wear scrubs and I had a pair of painties in my pant leg. That was before I realized that dryer sheets are a must! I'm glad to know the whole story behind the shoe mishap. Great story!

i must admit i have left the house with a shirt on inside out, but by far my favorite mistake is when someone left a real estate open house wearing my mother's shoes! my aunt chased the lady down the street, and when the shoes were returned, it was determined that that lady actually wore shoes 4 sizes smaller!

The only thing I can remember wearing to work that was un-matched was two different color socks and that was just soooo many years ago. How hilarious to have two completely different shoes on! Totally funny and as your co-worker, I would have snapped a photo too! LOL

My youngest daughter's back to school day at pre-school years ago ~ one navy heel, one black heel. I had even been at work for several hours prior to this.

Wow, I feel so much better after reading about your shoe mishap! I have actually done the very same thing about three times! My coworkers think I am losing my mind! We keep our shoes in the garage and it's kind of dark out there... at least that is my excuse! :)
