Flashback Friday (Part 54) - The Bachelorette Party

April 23, 2010

Deb's bachelorette party in Virginia Beach
One of the best days of my life was seven years ago when I had my wedding shower and bachelorette party on the same day before we got married in Jamaica. It was the first and to date only time I had been in a limo and orchestrated by CC, a group of ladies hit different bars in Virginia Beach. As is somewhat tradition, I had a list of things to do such as a certain shot, kiss a bald man's head, etc.

One thing that should have been on the list was get up on stage and dance with the band.

At our final stop, we met up with Tim and some of his friends. Ironically, it was the same bar we had met in five years earlier. He was at the back of the bar with his friends, there was a large bar area in the middle and then a small stage with a tiny, packed dance floor in front of it.

Since I was rather incognito in my straw hat, shotglass necklace and white boa; I found a spot near the front of the dance floor with the other ladies.

The band looked like they need a little spark, so I jumped up on stage and started to dance.

My entourage joined me and that is why these pictures aren't centered. Who ever had the camera was laughing too hard. (I'm in the pink shirt on the left hand side.)

In what seemed like only one song the band mysteriously decided to take a break.

Looking out at the crowded dance floor with people being sandwiched up against the stage, I found my most serious and sober voice and said very authoritatively into the abandoned microphone,

"Everyone take one step back."

Everyone did.

Then they looked up and realized it was the drunk bachelorette girl in the white boa and I heard a bunch of grunts and moans before I started laughing into the microphone.

Needless to say, I was escorted off the stage minutes later.

After being reunited with Tim in the back of the bar he said, "Yep, that's my future wife!"

Now it's your turn.

When I went out for my future SIL's b'lette party she ended up on top of a bar dancing and handing out shots! I am attending another b'letter party this Saturday....I hope there's good stories like this that I can share!

Heh heh... a girl after my own heart. First and only time I ever sang on stage with a band it was my birthday and I was a bit tipsy and helped sing "They Say It's Your Birthday... Well it's My Birthday Too Ya". What a blast.
