The Beach Version of a "Snow Day"
November 12, 2009
A Nor'ester is hitting Virginia Beach and the surrounding areas right now. If the temperature were cooler we'd be buried in snow but as is the case the rain continues to fall and the winds are whipping at gusts up to 50 mph.
Here's a view from my front bay window of the rain blowing sideways as the rest spills over the gutters and down the window panes.
Sometimes the county officials have jumped the gun on these cancellations as they did on Inauguration Day earlier this year. Classes were called off the night before to avoid panic before the snow fell. Here is a picture of the snow taken from my front door.
I'm just glad Troy is in daycare so we don't have to worry about make-up days before we go on vacation in June to the Outer Banks. Is it summer yet?

I would prefer your nor'easter to ours....snow and snow and more snow..not like all the snow in the picture link lol...
good luck
Hang in there! We had a killer ice storm this past winter and were trapped in hotel rooms until the power came back on. That Mother Nature doesn't mess around!
Thanks for visiting 4Jugs!

Rain, Rain go away! I am actually hoping that the snow stays away here. We already had some in October, but November has been beautiful.
Hope the rains stop soon.
I'm so over this rain already! Thankfully I'm off work so I don't have to call out.
wow, that rain is intense! Hope you make it through okay. We've actually had some snow last week, I am so not ready for it!
Yikes! You are getting a lot of rain. It hasn't hit us yet. I'm dreading winter and am ready for Spring.
Wow! That's a ton of rain! Hope it gets better before it gets any worse!
I hope it stops soon!
