A Favorite Thing

Tim brought home these two magnets a few years ago. From a distance, they look very June Cleaver-like til you read the talking bubbles.I pause to read them every so often as I walk through the kitchen and giggle.
What color is your dress?

I love those kind of magnets too. I have a bunch of old Saturday Evening Post covers from the 50's that depict women in the kitchen and outside the window dad and the kids are swimming and having a good time and mom looks so happy. Yikes! I find them so hilarious.
I love it! I have one that shows a pic from the 50s with mom swigging away at a bottle "That Marge! Six kids, PTA, brownies, carpool. How DOES she do it?" and another that show a cleaver-esque mom cleaning the bathtub "A clean house is the sing of a wasted life"
Ha ha! That's funny! :)
I love old art/ads with humorous sayings. The first one is the best. They have books and products on Amazon with those 50's/60's themes. I would spend a ton of money on those items if I could. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am with you on not spending the dough for highlights. I figure since I do everything else for my family that it was about time I do something for myself. I still feel guilty though. Have a great day and take care.

I love those vintage magnets, cards, etc. with fun sayings!
My mother tells me that when they were growing up in the 50's, her mother used to take some type of over the counter pills called Mill House (?) which were like Valium.
No wonder all those housewives have those silly smiles on their faces!
