Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

May 5, 2009

After our first attempt at watching a NASCAR race in 2006, we went back to Richmond this past weekend with my mother-in-law and her boyfriend who were visiting from Kentucky.

Chris and Cheryl were very excited about the race and taught us a few things about NASCAR. Apparantly, even though "Junior" doesn't win very much, his last name still keeps him popular. He switched teams last year and now drives the number 88 car sponsored by Mt. Dew.

Even though we had some intermittant rain storms throughout the day, our seats were covered during the race. Kyle Busch won that night. I guess that wasn't great news for many because his bad attitude doesn't make him very popular among fans.

Cheryl wanted to ensure she had another Junior fan in the family so she bought Troy a t-shirt.
Trying to show some "Kyle Busch attitude" in his Dale Jr. shirt.
