Flashback Friday (part 3) - A Trip to Jackson Hole

January 9, 2009

As newlyweds in January 2004, Tim and I along with "The Neighbors" (a.k.a. Chris and Caroline) decided to head West to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a skiing (me) and snowboarding (them) week long vacation.
Tapping into my extensive friend network, (ha!) we mooched off staying with my high school best friend Sarah and her husband Alex (also newlyweds). I loved all the Old West decor including the saddle bar stools at The Million Dollar Cowboy bar and restaurant.

The week's activities included a lot of cocktails, trips to the slopes, snowmobiling to a natural hot spring and a sleigh ride through the national park.
Caroline and I went on the sleigh ride through the national elk refuge. Since she grew up a "horse person" and I have a big mouth, it was easy for me to casually ask our sleigh driver if Caroline could take over the reigns. He was happy to oblige.
The elk herd was huge and seemed undaunted by our presence. It was a great trip and I'm glad we got to see a different part of the country.

those bar stools are awesome! I wouldn't necessarily want them in my home, but they're still very cool! :)
