Oh Christmas Tree
December 11, 2008
Last year since we weren't home at Christmas but traveling to various family member's homes, we didn't put up our pre-lit Christmas tree. This year, we sorted through the decorations, decided we didn't know where half of them originated, didn't really care for them and pitched them into the garbage.
Tim was motivated to put up the tree so for the first time ever, we had the tree up before Thanksgiving. Troy wanted to help so we gave him the non-breakable ornaments to put on the branches his eye level and below. They all tended to weigh down the same branch, not that I cared.
We told him sternly, "no touch!" when he tried to touch the delicate glass balls. In an act of defiance, he would look at us, look at the tree, look at us and with purpose walk over to the tree, stick his little finger out and punch at one of the balls and then walk back away from the tree. If I hadn't of chuckled first, I may have had more credibility to tell him "no touch" for a second time.
