Let It Snow at The Beach
February 1, 2010
This past weekend Virginia Beach and the surrounding areas got hit with the most snow seen here in over two decades. Unlike last year, when everything was cancelled on this snow day.
By my unofficial measurement, I would say we had about seven inches at my house.
It snowed all day Saturday and overnight we picked up an additional two inches.
Everything was shut down and even today, all schools, military and local shipbuilders are closed.
Troy had never really played in snow before but was anxious to get outside.
He did snow angels.
He kept throwing snowballs at me.
Since we're in a beach town, everything here is flat so finding a hill to go sledding isn't an easy task.
Trying to stay ahead of the snow, Tim blew off our cars mid-day on Saturday with his leaf blower.
Sandy and Sydney didn't really know what to make of it all.
The snow was rather fluffy so we did the best we could to make a snowman.
Troy was impressed with Frosty. Sometimes it's easy to please a three year old. As for me, if it's going to be this cold it might as well snow.

I'm cracking up over the leaf blower! classic. They have these cool things called snow brushes for your car. they are like 2 bucks ;) brooms work well too.

Looks like some great times were had in the snow... I wish you would send some over here!!
So did you have snow gear for him just in case? Or did you run out and buy it when the snow hit?
Great pictures! My kids didn't even get out in it this time.
He looks so much like you,
